Why are sad songs considered peretentious, anyways? Ever since I started paying attention, my favourite songs were about mourning (though what was being mourned varied and wasn't always clear), but I felt ashamed of it because of the general fandom disdain towards them. I now feel strong enough in my convictions to admit to preferring sadness and tragedies, but why the hell are they disliked?
