In a story a girl made food containing meat that a boy couldn't eat due to his beliefs, but he ate the dish because she made it, and the girl comment how she finds it romantic that the boy goes against his believes for her, and I hated that moment so much :/ Otherwise the story is very sympathetic towards minorities and minority characters. It was written in Croatian and the stars are a Jewish exchange student from Russia and a Croatian teen trans girl living alone. They happen to meet just before the civil war and are pretending they are a married couple for safety. Because it was generally ok with the portrayal of both characters, the scene felt like a fart in an elevator to me :/
